Last month, I had the pleasure of visiting Amazon’s Campus in Seattle for an executive briefing. It was a great experience. While there, my team and I got a tour of the Amazon Spheres and other Amazon stores such as “Go” and “4-star“.
In addition to a great tour, we were able to learn more about the various services that Amazon currently offered in the cloud. One of the services that stood out most to me was AWS Sagemaker, a fully managed machine learning platform. Up until this point, I hadn’t worked with machine learning before because I didn’t find it that interesting. However, when I saw AWS Deepracer, a race car meant to help you learn machine learning through reinforcement training, I couldn’t wait to learn more.
Last week, I was given an AWS Deepracer by a colleague to train and hopefully use to compete against others. With AWS Deepracer, you can use Sagemaker to train the car to race around a track without failing. In the next post, I will detail how I built and trained my models for Deepracer. If you are looking for instructions on how to setup your Deepracer, Amazon has made a pretty solid guide. For now, take a look at some of these unboxing photos and videos.
